"Leveraging Federal Infrastructure Spending to Increase Economic Opportunity for Young Adults."

The U.S. is currently making once-in-a-generation investments in infrastructure and clean energy through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) of 2021 and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022. The federal government is supporting thousands of projects across the country that improve the country’s transportation, water, energy, and broadband systems, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and address other climate needs. Investments at this scale are an opportunity to expand economic mobility and access to quality jobs. But to build on-ramps into infrastructure and clean energy jobs that are accessible to all young people -- especially those already on the margins of the labor market -- we need new strategies and partnerships. At this session, learn more about the new funding and policy landscape, and be prepared to brainstorm about how to leverage infrastructure and clean energy investments to expand employment opportunities for young people.

The RAPSA Forum Pre-Conference will consist of 3 extra sessions focused on workforce development and will take place on November 6, a day before the main sessions on November 7-8. Tickets to the pre-conference are an ADD-ON and not included with a regular event ticket.
