Accepting proposals through August 28th for November 16-18
The Reaching At-Promise Students Association Forum has become the seminal event for education, labor and community leaders serving trauma impacted reengaged students and out of school youth. Those of us serving at promise students, particularly African-American and Latino students, continue to fight inequities in education and career preparation. The disproportionate rates of dropouts among students of color is powerful evidence that more needs to be done. 2020 brought our students face to face with a global pandemic, resurgent racism, an economy spiraling out of control and classrooms closing across the Country.
Our conference focuses on youth who most need personalized learning and wrap around supports. We pride ourselves in the sense of collaboration and community that our annual event brings. This year, despite going virtual, we are inviting you to be a part of making the RAPSA Forum the most positive and collaborative online event caring professionals attend this year.
Our attendees are commited to equity and growth in schools and community organizations serving the at-promise and opportunity youth. Those serving at promise students continue the most important education battles today. RAPSA is here to help you demonstrate strategies and policies that reengage students. Commit to being the change for these youth by sharing your strategies and success.
We’re looking for 60-minute presentations that describe the implementation of policies and practices that are relevant to education, community and workforce leaders working with at promise youth and that relate to one of the four conference themes. We’re particularly interested in innovative approaches that demonstrate success with At Promise youth which focus on equity and highlight lessons learned during the COVID-19 crisis that have long term implications.
Our four conference themes are:
· Alternative Accountability In Practice
· Deeper Conversations About Equity
· Understanding Trauma During a Crisis
· Building Promise During COVID
Successful proposals will include a brief explanation of how your presentation will encourage interaction with attendees; provide evidence of success; multi-organizational strategies and concrete examples of how the policies and/or practices are being implemented.
To submit a proposal or to learn more about the themes and the conference please submit a proposal on the Call For Presenters Form.
