Registration Now Open – RAPSA Forum 2021

RAPSA’s annual November Forum brings together education and community leaders who serve at-promise students. Many of you return year after year because of the targeted content and collaboration among colleagues and old friends. We are committed to maintaining the quality and connections that you expect as RAPSA has another virtual conference before returning to in person.

To maintain that sense of connection, it will now be a 2 day event. We expect to provide enough content with that number to keep connection and magnify the value of virtual breakouts, chats and affinity groups. We are moving what one of our guests called “the most intimate gathering of caring leaders” on to an interactive virtual platform.

Helping At-Promise Students Bounce Back

Post COVID Reengagement

Like so many other students across the country who have been adversely impacted by the pandemic, at-promise students are in critical need of schools and programs that can help them bounce back from a very difficult year by earning their high school diploma and preparing for their futures.
This will be no small task for at-promise students or the school communities that serve them. RAPSA is seeking presenters to share policies and practices that can help at-promise students in the following ways:

  1. Recover from the learning loss.
  2. Access wraparound supports in their communities.
  3. Access supports and services to meet their social and emotional needs such as counseling services.

Education agencies and individual schools planning for students and staff to return following COVID-19 closures must prioritize efforts to address social and emotional learning and mental and behavioral health needs. Equally important is ensuring At-Promise youth are provided with pathways to postsecondary education and careers.

In addition to pathways, districts should ensure all policies or recommendations are culturally sensitive and ensure equity and access for all youth. Consequently, this years themes for the RAPSA conference address these topics schools, and educators are facing.
